Hakuba students and instructors attended the Standardisation 1 course at Horsham, Sensei Gordon Hoare’s Dojo.

An excellent course covering Kihon Waza, Renraku Waza and all Sanbon Kumite.

Students in attendance where: Sensei Bob 3rd Dan, Natascha Bukowski 5th Kyu, Elle Fiddler 5th Kyu, Alan Hinds 6th Kyu, Phil Humphries 6th Kyu, John Kendall 6th Kyu, Anette Scheepers 7th Kyu, Mike Trevor 7th Kyu and Sensei Jim 3rd Dan.

Ohyo Kumite and Tanto Dori Course at Bushi Karate Club on Sunday 20th January 2019.

Hosted by Sensei Andy Daly and Sensei Jim Daly.

We trained in Ohyo Ipponme, Nihonme, Sanbonme, Gohonme and Ropponme. Sensei explained correct movement,technique and mind-set. ‘Yonshin’ Four Minds.

We then moved on to Tanto Dori, working with a partner to defend against a short bladed weapon. This included the correct etiquette when handling a Tanto, and Tanto Dori, Ipponme, Nihonme and Sanbonme. Time was unfortunately against us for Yohonme.
